Apple and Samsung ‘trying to find common ground,’ unnamed Korea Times source claims

“A long-running patent fight between Samsung Electronics and Apple is showing signs of a ceasefire, sources familiar with the negotiations said Monday,” Kim Yoo-chul reports for The Korea Times.

‘We are trimming down the number of disputed issues. We no longer want to spend time talking about secondary points,’ said an industry official, asking not to be named. ‘Both firms are trying to find common ground,'” Kim reports. “‘It’s too early to say that the ongoing working-level talks will produce an immediate breakthrough, but we are more practical about trying to find a solution,’ said the official.

  1. I hope that this is true because despite the billions that Apple and Samsung have, they’s no way that they could continue this crap indefinitely (well, not that anyone or any company exists indefinitely, but you know what I mean).

  2. I have no doubt they are talking about finding common ground. You are supposed talk of peace right before an attack, to try to get the enemy to lower its defenses. That’s literally chapter 1 in the Art of War.

  3. I hope Apple doesn’t give up. Every other company Samsung has screwed over has given up and allowed this slavish South Korean POS to get away with it. C’mon Apple, please don’t give up and put this POS in its place.
