Photo of alleged iPhone 6 batteries in production tray posted online

“French site Nowhereelse.fr has shared a photo of what are claimed to be batteries for the iPhone 6 spotted in a production tray,” Richard Padilla reports for MacRumors. “While the validity of the image cannot be confirmed, the batteries do appear to share similar physical characteristics with other iPhone batteries.”

“As the report notes, however, the positioning of the iPhone 6’s battery appears to be modified as a metallic section present on current batteries appears to be now integrated along the side,” Padilla reports. “This would indicate a potentially new form factor for the iPhone 6.”

Padilla reports, “The leak follows a number of others in recent weeks, including an image from earlier this morning that allegedly depicted the front panel of the iPhone 6 as well as several photos that showed manufacturing molds hinting at a larger-screen iPhone.”

  1. Here’s a story about iPhone 6 batteries. An earlier story about a possible larger iPhone front face plate. IF, and I know it is a big if, these are not fake photos and these items are indeed being manufactured in bulk for future assembly, does anyone think that an earlier product release might be expected or will Apple retain it’s usual fall release? Just wondering what others opinions are on release date?

    1. I know this: They need a big iPhone out yesterday. So yeah, if they can debut it in June they will. Also that leaves Fall/Pre-Christmas open for new AppleTV and iWatch. It does make sense, assuming all the above to be real products and nearly ready.

        1. Announced at WWDC maybe… released? Never. This wouldn’t simply be a point release this would be a major release of hardware alongside a major release of iOS… They wouldn’t release this phone without iOS 8, therefore they couldn’t release the phone any earlier than the iOS 8 development/test cycle. iOS 8 wouldn’t be released before it went through all the beta cycles in the iOS developers community… So they couldn’t release the phone early since the OS for the phone couldn’t be released before it was tested.
