“Flexible PCB suppliers Flexium Interconnect, Zhen Ding Technology Holding and Career Technology reportedly have delivered FPCB [Flexible Printed Circuit Board] samples for use in iWatch devices to Apple for validation, according to industry sources,” Patty Wang and Steve Shen report for DigiTimes.

“Apple is expected to unveil the iWatch wearable devices in September, the sources indicated,” Wang and Shen report. “Zhen Ding is currently the largest FPCB supplier for Apple and plans to invest over US$100 million to further ramp up its production capacity in 2014 due in part to increasing FPCB demand from Apple for production of its large-size iPhones and iPad products, said the sources”

  1. Apple creates prototypes for all manner of devices all the time. Just because samples were delivered does not necessarily guarantee a product will be launched. And you can’t blame Apple for being so secretive about its plans, since there appears to be no recourse for Apple in our legal system to effectively punish those companies who would steal their ideas. So maybe the report is right. But until Apple says so, this is not news.

  2. A. I wonder if the new device will be bundled with the iPhone 6. The on contract price at release would be $299 (iHealthy + iPhone), instead of the typical $199 (just iPhone) it has been in previous years.

    B. Or health insurers will pay for the device and send it to their clients. I’m sure there has been actuarial work done to determine health care costs should substantially decrease with the use of the iHealth Pro.

  3. Already so much suspense and pent up demand …and I’m not referring to customers, I’m referring to competitors ..but me, I want little red rubies surrounding the screen ..it will be so pretty ..is that an option? My iWatch will be such a compliment that I will hear ‘omg, solomé, you are so inconceivably hot’ and me ‘yeah, i know’ besides, it’s not just $350. It’s love and genius.
