Analyst: Apple may sell 20 million iPhones on China Mobile in first year

“Global Equities Research‘s Trip Chowdhry today writes that he has been approached by clients asking him what he makes of the rumored iPhone deal between Apple and China Mobile,” Tiernan Ray reports for Barron’s.

a) iPhone is the Anchor product that brings the customers into the Apple Family; b) Depending on the geography 40% to 60% of iPhone users also become an iPad user; c) And about 20% of iPad users become Mac user. So the incremental opportunity based only on China Mobile only can be thought as follows: a) First 12 months iPhone Sales = 15 mil to 20 mil; b) First 12 months iPad Sales (40% to 60% of iPhone Sales) = 6 mil to 7 mil; c) First 12 months Mac Sales (20% of iPad Sales) = 1.2 million.

  1. The china mobile deal is not only business to business , it is also political to political .
By looking at the face of USA Vice President when he visited china , u know china won’t send this gift to America.
Nobody seems to talk about what will happen to aapl if the deal isn’t inked .

I am very excited and ready to see the dive of AAPL on 18th. FROM that day , u will become like me who disregard whatever news about Apple from Wall Shit Journal.

ONLY stupid will trust the so-called source from WALL SHIT journal which has a long history of posting misleading news of AAPL.

    CHINA MOBILE has denied .

UPDATE: A China Mobile spokesman told CNN’s Beijing bureau Tuesday that there was no deal yet with Apple (AAPL) and that the Suzhou site was not “official.” He left open the possibility that it was some kind of test .

Thinking of the so-called PRE order website?

    The questionaire has finished.

TIME TO WAKE UP , dude!!!!

    1. When you say the same thing, word for word, over and over, on several forums, you are purposefully trying to poison the well.

That means that you are the irrelevant commentary not the other way around

    2. What is this 18th? Are you talking about the 18th of November, or the 18th of December?

Insofar as not speaking about what happens if the deal isn’t inked I’m not surprised. Reporting events doesn’t mean much to modern day jouranalists and analyst.

Consider the headline: “Analyst: Apple may sell 20 million iPhones on China Mobile in first year”

Now I don’t know what buffoon wrote the headline but they obviously did not take the time to pull their head of out their ass to check the dictionary:

      analyse, analyze:
      1. to examine in detail in order to discover meaning, essential features, etc.
      2. to break down into components or essential features to analyse a financial structure
      3. to make a mathematical, chemical, grammatical, etc., analysis of

Mind you the headline of the article at the site itself does not contain the word analyst, and the article itself does contain some analyst. However if you do look at the fine print at the top it says:
News, analysis, and actionable investing ideas.
If you look carefully at those items:
      1. News: Nothing new, this is a regurgitation article from other sources. Making a few phone calls and saying what other people have said passes as news these days.

      2. Analysis: There is actually some interesting analytical data in there, “depending on the geography 40% to 60% of iPhone users also become an iPad user; ” That certainly fits with analyzing, examining in detail to discover meaning.

      3. Actionable investing ideas. This of course is the man behind the curtain or as you put it this case “Nobody seems to talk about what will happen to aapl if the deal isn’t inked”

Yes, pay no attention to the man behind the curtain, don’t talk about what will happen to aapl if the deal isn’t inked, and I’ll add don’t talk about Wall Street manipulators.

Ordinarily the concept of synthesize is at the opposite side of the spectrum and if this article did talk about the economic effects of Apple not signing a deal well that would certainly give one the information to make an informed actionable investing idea. As it doesn’t it falls into the garbage category of wild speculation and rumor mongering, where it seems more jouranalysts and other unethical beings are living these days.

      speculate:
      1. To meditate on a subject; reflect.
      2. To engage in a course of reasoning often based on inconclusive evidence.
      3. To engage in the buying or selling of a commodity with an element of risk on the chance of profit.

I used http://www.thefreedictionary.com for the definitions, your mileage may vary.

Will there be a deal with China mobile? Right now it’s speculation.

  2. There was an analyst from another firm this morning said that Apple would be lucky to sell 10 million iPhones on China Mobile’s network and that every other analyst was simply getting carried away. He downgraded Apple from buy to neutral but raised the target price from $530 to $600. These analysts are all over the place when it comes to Apple so it just a waste of time listening to them.
