“With the release of OS X 10.9 in October, Apple in November saw the first full month of availability for its latest operating system version, just like Microsoft,” Emil Protalinski reports for TNW. “Unlike Windows, however, the latest OS X release has already managed to grab first place in market share last month, beating out all its predecessors very quickly.”
“The latest market share data from Net Applications shows that November 2013 was a big one for Mavericks, which gained 1.58 percentage points (from 0.84 percent to 2.42 percent),” Protalinski reports. “All other OS releases lost share: OS X 10.8 fell 1.48 points (from 3.31 percent to 1.85 percent), OS X 10.7 lost 0.22 points (from 1.56 percent to 1.34 percent), OS X 10.6 slipped 0.07 points (from 1.60 percent to 1.53 percent), and OS X 10.5 dipped 0.01 points (from 0.33 percent to 0.32 percent).”
“OS X users have always upgraded faster than their Windows counterparts. That being said, there are far fewer Macs in the world, so it shouldn’t be a surprise to anyone that OS X 10.9 is already leading the way,” Protalinski reports. “The real question now is how long will it take for OS X 10.9 to gain more share than all other OS X versions? It probably won’t happen this year, but we likely won’t have to wait more than a couple of months.”

Will be upgrading all the business ones here for everyone once Mavericks settles in and gets the bugs shook out. Already upgraded at home. I like 95% of it. Have a few gripes.
Despite its pretending to be an operating system, windows 8 is found on more computers.

I’ll stay with Lion and Mountain Lion as long as Cloud will still be necessary to synch my Mac with my iDevices!
That’s a shame. Seems you will never have any future versions of OS X in that case.
I’m confused, why do you need the Cloud to sync your iDevices? I sync mine the old fashioned way, directly by cable or WiFi.
Synching your iOS devices via iCloud is an option (it’s one that I use myself) though you can also do so via cable and your computer.
In OS X 10.9 the option to sync contacts, calendars and notes can only be done with iCloud. All other media sync remains the same.

As the owner of UPEK/AuthenTec USB fingerprint scanners for my Macs, I lost that ability with Mavericks. That is sad, since Apple bought AuthenTec and could easily fix the bug.
Mavericks and the latest software introduces a log in bug that locks up your Mac where you cannot log in by typing or with the fingerprint scanner. The Apple updater does not catch the [problem and Apple did not update the software.
Come on, Apple. Fix the AuthenTec SW and drivers so we can use our Fingerprint scanners again.
