Amazon’s French and German sites hint new Apple TV coming October 23rd

“Amazon’s online storefronts in France and Germany on Thursday showed sudden unavailability of the current generation Apple TV,” AppleInsider reports, “instead noting the device will be ‘available from Oct. 23,’ hinting that a revamped version of the set-top streamer may soon be released.”

“While mere speculation, the Oct. 23 date could mean the online sales giant simply sold through existing stock and is awaiting a new shipment,” AppleInsider reports. “Alternatively, the company could be putting a hold on Apple TV sales ahead of a special Apple event planned for Oct. 22.”

  1. Along the same lines… I’ve been wondering about Apple’s plans with the Apple TV and gaming. We now have game controller APIs, I saw a new Logitec controller a couple days ago at the tech conference… I have no idea if Apple will open up the TV APIs and add more storage, or continue to use the iPad/iPhone as the “box” where the game is stored. Anyway, no idea if the Apple TV will be upgraded, but I would at least expect a few controllers to be announced.
