Apple will reportedly unveil seven new iPhone colors today

“It’s looking increasingly likely that when Apple takes the stage today at the official iPhone launch event today that they will actually be unveiling seven new iPhone colors,” John Brownlee reports for Cult of Mac.

“There’s the rainbow of iPhone 5C colors, of course — white, red, green, blue and yellow — but Apple is also releasing the iPhone 5S in a couple of new color configurations,” Brownlee reports. “There’s the old black-and-slate and white-and-silver models, but joining them are new Graphite and Champagne colored options.”

  1. I would have thought they’d have a black 5C, the 3G was black after all and it was plastic. Can’t see many people passing up a 5C and spending the extra for a 5S because they desperately want a black phone.

  2. New colors? Pathetic – Apple innovation died with Jobs. He would turn over in his grave if he saw the “new” gold color. And throwing some cheapo plastic cases on a 5 and calling it a “5C”?
And the coup de grace – a gimmicky fingerprint sensor and modest upgrades in the same chassis as the 5? VERY incremental. Not surprising (Apple has totally lost secrecy under Timmy Cookie) and pretty much playing catch up for the first time in its iPhone history. Really, Jobs should resurrect himself just to bitch-slap Cook. Maybe they can bring him in as a hologram during a keynote – like when they hologrammed Tupac in at Coachella or Easy-E at Rock the Bells….

Totally agree. Of course we don’t know as of yet what Apple will announce, but if the rumors are true, I’m getting bored. The iPhone design is 3 years and counting. If they keep the same design it’ll be 4 years with it. 4. YEARS.

This is insane. And don’t tell me if it ain’t broke don’t fix it. The iPhone design is ok but there’s lots of room for innovation. It’s blocky. Obtuse around the edges. It scratches easily. The bezel looks old: when can we kill the bezel and round out the edges? They could actually make the phone overall smaller by trimming the bezel at the top and bottom and sides, at the same time the screen can grow. The screen is too small. I’m now hating it.

      Fingers crossed…

  3. Since the iPhone usually goes into a case colors don’t really seem to matter that much. A larger iPhone though would sell like hotcakes even though I am very satisfied with my current iPhone 5’s size. Just thinking of the rest of consumers who insist on ghetto blaster sized phones, hoisted up proudly on their shoulders.
