“Ashton Kutcher is continuing to rake in the dough,” The New York Post reports. “We’re told the ‘Jobs’ star is close to inking a $10 million endorsement deal with computer company Lenovo, which will include him appearing in a number of ads.”
“Kutcher is still ironing out divorce proceedings with Demi Moore,” The Post reports. “Kutcher, now dating Mila Kunis, is TV’s highest-paid actor for ‘Two and a Half Men,’ which netted him $24 million between May 2011 and May 2012.”

MacDailyNews Take:
Being the richest man in the cemetery doesn’t matter to me… Going to bed at night saying we’ve done something wonderful, that’s what matters to me. – Steve Jobs
[Thanks to MacDailyNews Reader “Lynn Weiler” for the heads up.]
Really, who actually thinks these ‘stars’ have any loyalty to anything? And besides. It’s about time Kelso and Jackie hooked up in real life.
I would push Lenovo PCs for 10 million dollars. Yes I would. And I’d keep a shit eating grin on my face, and occasionally get caught with my MacBook Pro in public. Then I’d cover it and slink away like it was child porn or something, making sure the evil Apple logo was still visible.
As if the folks at MDN wouldn’t start shilling for Lenovo if they were offered $10 million to do so. The excessive amount of ads on this page attests to that.
True that.
What have you done with the real Edward?
He never gets any stars.
He often gets one star since you can’t vote for zero stars. So every five posts he gets 5 stars.
I mean, I absolutely HATE Lenovo. I got a ThinkPad from them in 2009, and it was utter garbage. They’re the main reason I finally made the jump to the more expensive but infinitely more valuable Macbook Pro.
But if Lenovo offered me a cool ten mil to say I like their ping pong paddles (Forrest Gump reference for those who didn’t get it)? You better believe I’d whore myself out to them.
Although it sucks that a guy who is going to be associated with “Steve Jobs” in the minds of many will be used to sell Apple’s competitor’s products. At least it’s Lenovo and not Samsung, though.
I agree that Lenovo ThinkPads are garbage, but you know what’s really sad? Lenovo notebooks are some of the best Windows notebooks you can buy.
The association between Kutcher and Jobs in the public’s mind is precisely why he’s getting the big payday for spokesman.
You and I would do it for $10 million, sure, but we don’t get many opportunities like that. If Ashton Kutcher thought Lenovo ThinkPads were garbage, he could just say no to the deal out of principle, and still have plenty of cash and other other opportunities to make more of it. Ashton Kutcher saying yes to this deal would still be significant because he, deservingly or not, has many other opportunities to make lots of money.
So very true, and multiple ads for the same thing as well. Surely having 20+ ads on one page just lowers any value that could be obtained from them?
The popups are making this site nearly unusable on an iPad …
@EDward
Yeh. But MDN folks probably didn’t earn $24mil each, in one year.
I think Ashton was never close to the mind of Jobs and making a deal with Lenovo after playing Jobs; Well, Jobs may just give him some personal attention. .
Ashton will be on next season’s Celebrity Ghost Stories show.
Lenovo & Kutcher. 2 has beens.
Kutcher may not be a great actor – but if somebody, anybody, is willing to map you 10 Mil, you are not a has-been.
* pay
How did I end up with map?
In hollyweird, your always a has been, day to day.
I can’t figure out why we, as a society, continue to give these self-important actors (and sports figures) millions of dollars when there are so many more worthwhile things to spend these vast sums on (like world hunger).
Who really needs more than say $5 million anyway? They should say, “Thanks, I’m done,” and let the next in line get their $5 million.
They wouldn’t need more than $5 million if they continued to live the normal lives most of them had before they became famous. If you gave me $5 million now and I maintained the same path I’m on, I’d be set for life. But when I decide I need a new mansion, summer homes in Florida and the Hamptons, a lavish wardrobe of high end clothes and jewelry, a couple luxury cars, weekly first class flights to party around the country with an entourage of moochers and pretty plastic girlfriends who are only attracted to extravagance, $5 million will quickly start to look like minimum wage.
That is total truth. But they get that $$ and there is no self control and it’s show off time. Gotta live that Star Life!
All I can do is hope for a lottery win to demonstrate my self control! : P
Though I fully admit I would probably spend a wad on some new iMacs, MBPs, iPads, and iPhones (new in a few months).
I always thought Kutcher was mindless. This cements that. The only smart thing he’s done is play Steve Jobs. It’s all about $$$. Ick.
Getting married to Demi was a $$ move also, money and excellent publicity at a time in his career when he really needed it. She was more in the spotlight than he was back then after her big success in the Robert Redford movie, whatever that one was called.
It’s a perfect match.
Kutcher isn’t really Steve.
Lenovo doesn’t make real computers.
What’s to worry about?
I think that AK=SJ connection convincing people Lenovo is as good as Apple is going to be a tough sell, even to the stupid.
Don’t worry, they won’t.
I couldn’t care less.
He will be next Jerry Seinfield.
Mr. Seinfield was paid to work for Microsoft for TV commercials but then he owns Mac.
Wait and see! 🙂
I’m sure Lenovo picked him because of his talent, computer knowledge and his work on Two and a Half Men . . .
. . . and most of all, because that’s what he has been using all along. 😉
