“Apple’s iTunes Radio received much of the fanfare and press at its developer conference last month,” Chris Ciaccia reports for TheStreet. “Initial reports indicated the streaming service was just a ‘me-too’ effort, but it may be much more.”
“I did notice some subtle differences [from Pandora],” Ciaccia reports. “It has a nicer user interface than what Pandora offers on the initial demo. And iTunes Radio integrates songs you’ve previously purchased from iTunes, which is a nice addition for the hundreds, or perhaps thousands, of songs already in your library.”
Ciaccia reports, “Here’s a YouTube video of the research firm [BTIG] demoing the service.”

So looking forward to this!
How much will users have to pay to use iTunes Radio?
I believe it’s free with ads, and the ad-free version is $25/year with an iTunes Match subscription.
I’m not sure how this competes with more fully featured radio apps (Rdio, Last.fm, etc.) but it’s $15 cheaper than the pro version of Pandora, and offers just about the same features.
your data, unless you are on wifi
Meh — my experience of it was just okay. It’s pretty much the same as Spotify or Pandora and I don’t personally need to spend a lot of time correcting song choices via voice. What I didn’t like was that when you open up the music app now you’re thrown into the radio as the default instead of my own music collection.
Impressive!
