Samsung Galaxy phone explodes, catches fire in woman’s pants pocket causing third degree burn

“It was just another day at work for the 18 year old Swiss Fanny Schlatter, when all of a sudden she heard an explosion and could smell something funny,” Newlaunches reports.

“To her horror her cellphone, a Samsung Galaxy S3 had exploded in her pants and had caught fire,” Newlaunches reports. “The flames were high enough to reach her shoulder, fortunately the young Swiss woman’s life was spared by her boss’s timely action who ripped her pants.”

Newlaunches reports, “Fanny survived the horrendous ordeal with second and third degree burns to her thigh.”

  1. She also is lucky that the professionals, nowadays, mostly use WATER PAINT… and no more white spirit based products: she was just about putting cans back in her boss’s van!

    1. Whereas, were she an 18 year old working just another day for Bill ‘Bubba’ Clinton, she wouldn’t have been wearing any pants and thus avoiding such a horrific event all together!

  2. MDN, you fail to see the larger strategy here. Samsung built in planned obsolescence into its Galaxy S3 phones, so that people will have to buy a replacement Galaxy S4 and therefore increase Galaxy S4 sales.

Come on, wake up after a long July 4 weekend!

  3. She deserves it for buying a cheap plastic toy built out of junk parts built by criminals.

Had she bought an iPhone from apple, the true innovater and original and inverter of the smartphone , she would have had a better computing life and would have not been injured.

    1. No one “deserves” 2nd and 3rd degree burns. If Samsung executive David Eun hadn’t survived the Asiana 214 crash on Saturday, would you think he “deserved it” too?

      1. While I would not want to harm any of the other nearly 300 passengers on that plane, I would have traded the life of either of the 2 dead or a half dozen critically injured passengers for any Samsung executive.

It’s not just that they are a criminal mafia like organization run by a felon, nor that they shamelessly ripped off Apple who was a huge customer of theirs, its their complete and utter lack if remorse for their criminal theft and continued thumbing their nose at any lawful authority after they are exposed.

I’m sorry but I can’t shed a single year for the misfortune of any executive at that company, any more than I’d shed tears for a mob boss who chocked on some rigatoni.

  4. Apple usually doesn’t dabble in sensationalizing stories, but Tim Cook seems to have a heart. I could see him sending a new iPhone out to the girl. I would like to see them do it without a press release as well. That would be a classy move.

  5. Who knew you could use a Samdung phone to cook with. Clearly Apple needs to Ketchup. Also perhaps she was using the phone wrong. I have read that the Samdung phones work best in a explosive factory. Or better yet in a firework factory being so close to the 4th of July that might have been fun. Perhaps it was something in her pants that was so hot and not the phone itself. Expect this to go straight to court and be settled quickly. Say 2052
