“Apple’s iOS 7 beta includes new head gestures that enable users to control their iPhones by moving their heads left or right,” John Koetsier reports for VentureBeat.
“The gestures are buried in Apple’s accessibility settings, and are currently only intended, it appears, for use by people who cannot access iPhone’s on-screen controls,” Koetsier reports. “Activating ‘Switch Control’ allows a user to attach a left or right head movement to to highlight an on-screen option and select it.”
Koetsier reports, “More interestingly, however, this means that Apple has created camera-based gesture-sensing technology which could eventually find its way into apps and the operating system at large… The fact that Apple is building this technology raises interesting questions about their use in future Apple TV products, an iWatch smartwatch, or other computing devices.”

Pretty soon you’ll be banging your head vindictively against your iPhone as a result of the horrible iOS 7. As in, “Wha? WTF can’t I see the icons – they’re flatter than a pancake and lost amidst the background clutter.”
They better invent a resurrection machine to bring Steve Jobs back from the dead because it seems that no one in the entire organisation has an iota of taste.

This discover in iOS 7 does not “raise questions.” Apple was already granted several patents for gesture-based control systems.
But homework is annoying. Ignorance is soooo much easier.
The most common head gesture will be a shaking head in disbelieve … How Apple that was once known for its beautiful designs could make this fugly HIDIOUS iOS 7…

I can’t wait to use iOS 7! It’s so beautiful! Apple truly has the edge now in portable devices what with the new iOS 7 coming, the largest ecosystem of apps and 3rd party hardware. I also love how the operating system isn’t made by a web search company that collects information about you to sell to the highest bidder. Anyone who buys anything other than Apple iOS devices are obnoxiously ignorant of what they’re getting into.

What are you talking about… Apple is and has always been way ahead of the game when it comes to Accessibility options for the disabled.
Samsung’s half-assed eye-track scrolling and gesture based controls are nothing more than gimmicks – read the reviews around the web.
Perhaps you should also research the many, many patents Apple has applied for regarding MOST of the gimmicky technologies Samsung throws into its products as “features”.
Whatever Apple intends to do with camera-based recognition as input, it will have an actual use case, and I seriously doubt the above article has anything to do with Apple’s intentions.
Sounds like Samsung phone…..Apple becoming more like Android…..
