“The US Patent and Trademark Office officially published a series of 39 newly granted patents for Apple Inc. today,” Jack Purcher reports for Patently Apple. “Our report covers three new multi-touch patents, Aperture’s 2D Slider Control, a few major design patents wins for the iPhone 5 and Lightning connector and others.”
“Apple has been granted 3 new multi-touch related patents,” Purcher reports. “The patents generally cover apparatus and methods for simultaneously tracking multiple finger and palm contacts as hands approach, touch and slide across a proximity-sensing, multi-touch surface. Identification and classification of intuitive hand configurations and motions enables unprecedented integration of typing, resting, pointing, scrolling, 3D manipulation and handwriting into a versatile, ergonomic computer input device.”

… or as these patents are known in Korea – blueprints.
great.
The bottom line for Apple’s lawyers for 2016 just improved.
If only we could get the judge to follow along, means nothing.
Worthless until our legal system backs them up… At a pace faster than a slug.
Samsung will copy and quickly throw out a crappy version. Then the media will trip over themselves to write articles on how Samsung continues to innovate while Apple slides into oblivion.
Patents valid according to a governmental agency, USPTO, today, ‘Meh’, to a governmental branch, Judicial System, tomorrow!
Now that Apple “gave in” to the NSA like the rest of the tech giants, I bet the courts are going to magically be fair and expedient all of a sudden. (Maybe not.)
And……these patents mean nothing in the mind of the patent law world. Nothing but fodder for delaying infringement trials, despite the idiocy of it all.
Nice. More fire power to the war.
