“The US Patent and Trademark Office officially published a series of 30 newly granted patents for Apple Inc. today,” Jack Purcher reports for Patently Apple.
“While our report covers all of the granted patents that were issued to Apple today, we specifically highlight four patents relating to Multi-touch, simplified NFC data transfers, a revealing new wearable media player and iMovie editing,” Purcher reports. “Lastly, Apple was granted two design patents today with one of them notably crediting Apple’s late CEO Steve Jobs.”
Purcher reports, “The iPad with iBook UI design patent D683,730 which was originally filed for in Q3 2010 lists the late CEO Steve Jobs as one of the designers.”

Who cares. It’s not like any of these patents will be enforced by the American justice system
Too bad that even though they were granted 30 patents, they won’t be held up in court, so really, what’s the point of granting anything if they are going to let others just copy stuff?
Sadly you are correct. Unless you are a patent troll, the courts ignore you. Some how patent trolls get more legal backing in this country. So sad.
I have said it MANY times before, the US patent system is broken…..badly.
New legislation is going to (broken down) Congress to thwart Patent Trolls. Secondly, despite Samsung’s dirty tactics of attacking the very patents that they violated to drag out their battle out with Apple, Apple will prevail.
Samsung filed 5 times more than Apple last year and all tech companies continue to file patents week-in and week-out. If the system was completely broken they wouldn’t continue to spend the time engineering new breakthroughs.
Apple will file patents, introduce new products and in new categories too which will go a long way in lifting this crazy black cloud over Apple’s head that we see today.
Are all Apple fans really as wimpy as the guys noted above? Jeez, I hope not, because it’s really sad to hear. No perspective. Just all negative.
