“The consumer market for 3D printers is being put to the test as Staples begins carrying the Cube 3D printer from 3D Systems,” Patrick Seitz reports for Investor’s Business Daily.
“Staples, the world’s largest office supply retailer, on Friday became the first major U.S. retailer to announce availability of 3D printers,” Seitz reports. “It is selling the Cube for $1,300 on its website now and will make the printers available in a limited number of stores by the end of June.”
Seitz reports, “Rock Hill, S.C.-based 3D Systems is marketing Cube 3D printers to professional artists, hobbyists, small businesses and educators. The Cube is compatible with Apple Mac and Microsoft Windows computers, features Wi-Fi connectivity and comes with 25 free 3D templates, with more available online… The Cube can print items up to 5.5-inches square using material cartridges in 16 different colors.”
