50B! Wow, awesome Apple!
Feels like old times!
How exactly does one spend a $10,000 iTunes gift card?
I could spend a $10,000 iTunes gift card, but it’s a $10,000 App Store gift card. Don’t know if I could spend that.
Yeah boy it would be a lot more interesting if it were $10,000 worth of any Apple goods and services of your choice. Not many people will have need of $10,000 worth of apps. Blown opportunity to really excite people.
Official rules say each gift card is “redeemable in the iTunes Store, App Store, and iBookstore.”
Without question, the most useless prize in the history of giveaways. Even a container load of pajamas, ball-point pens and spatulas would be more useful. Apple obviously didn’t want to make the prize useable at the Apple Store because the winner would actually redeem it for the full value.
Buy 500 HD movies
Buy 750 full albums
Buy 750 books or audiobooks
Buy thousands of apps
Buy hundreds of full TV series
Keep iTunes Match for life
Keep OS X updated for life
Buy all the expensive Mac apps you wish you always could afford.
Anyone that doesn’t want a $10,000 gift card doesn’t have to play. I’d take it in a heartbeat.
People obviously haven’t read the rules. Get all your info before you say something.
I figured Eric Schmidt would be bragging about how Android already has 100 billion downloads by now because Android’s market share is so huge compared to iOS.
I’d prefer to be able to purchase hardware with the gift card, but I’m not getting bent out of shape, because my chances of winning anything is next to nil. At least I can buy Apple hardware with my Apple dividends. However, for a company with so much cash money lying around, they’re really cheap not to offer the grand prize winner any Apple products of their choice. Seriously, how much could offering $10,000 worth of hardware impact their bottom line. It’s a real head-scratcher how Apple approaches things. I do understand how the prize is related to Apple’s software side, but still…
Big change to win that 🙂
