It would be nice if thier thunderbolt pci expansion slot wpuld cost less than building a new pc just for a capture card or video card then transfer video to my Mac for editing

They call that a doc, but that is actually more like an HD housing with optical drive for a whooping $500.
I was talking something more like:
NewerTech Voyager Q Quad Interface Dock for 2.5″ and 3.5″ Serial ATA Drives
And it’s sad that it would be cheaper to build a bare bones PC with an extra sata cable and power coming out and have your Mac access it through Ethernet than buy their drives

… that the Backup drive was not connected to her brand-new iMac. “Is it WiFi?” No … oops!
So I had to go out and get a) a Thunderbolt/FireWire (800) converter and b) a FireWire (800) cable – cuz all I had were FireWire *400* cables.
