“Apple has reportedly cut its shipments of the iPad mini to between 10-12 million units for the second quarter of 2013, according to industry sources,” Julian Ho and Alex Wolfgram report for DigiTimes.
“The decrease may be as high as 20% on month during April, the sources noted,” Wolfgram report. “Apple’s cut comes as it is adjusting its reserves for the next-generation iPad mini, which is likely to be released in the third quarter, added the sources. However, the sources also noted that Apple’s cut is because of increased competition from various 7-inch Android tablets.”

In reality, no one knows the truth outside of Apple. So it is nothing but conjecture and speculation. By everyone! Could be that the cutbacks are due to a newer iPad mini. Could be that the cutbacks are due to slowing iPad mini sales. But it’s funny how so many think they know exactly what the reason is. The world is full of geniuses.

Information is “facts provided or learned about something or someone.”
We should not call this the “information age” because a fact is “a thing that is indisputably the case.”
A more proper term for this era would be the “Machiavellian Age.”
We are living in a time when complete and utter B.S. is shoveled to us from all directions. I always knew it was true, but since following Apple closely in the markets since about 2001 I’ve never seen it illustrated more clearly.
Before I followed Apple, I was mildly cynical. Now I’m completely f-ing paranoid.
It wasn’t all that long ago that we accepted as fact that the sun and moon and stars revolved around our little planet. It wasn’t until we had better observation and measuring tools that we learned our “fact” wasn’t so factual. I would suggest that the observation and measuring tools used by Digitimes are akin to 18th century astronomy tools!
Copernicus removed the earth from the center of the universe in the early 1500’s, not in the 18th century.
