“People who own iPhones use them to watch a lot more video than people who own Android phones,” Peter Kafka reports for AllThingsD. “Twice as much, according to Web video company Ooyala.”
“Ooyala isn’t measuring all Web video everywhere — just the stuff that it serves up via its own service and player,” Kafka reports. “But Ooyala handles a lot of video — it boasts some 200 million unique viewers worldwide — so it has at least some insight into the way people watch stuff.”
Kafka wonders, “Still: Is there something about Android itself that discourages video use?”

MacDailyNews Take: Since Android settlers are notorious cheapskates, and since they probably got their phone for “free” during an unending, spiff-laden “Buy One, Get X Number Free” promo, they’ve also likely signed up for the absolute minimum data plan they could possibly get and therefore only watch video when they can find their one true nirvana: Free Wi-Fi. The operative word being “free.”
Good thing you have those big, pocket-defying screens, dummies. Don’t crack open your welded wallets or the moths will flock as you try to enjoy watching your insipid animated wallpaper on them while supporting patent-infringing thieves. Droooooiiiiid.

9 pts.
This can’t be true – we don’t even have Flash support! 😉
Looks like 50% of Android users use their phones as feature phones.
LOL @ “Droooooiiiiid”
I call B.S., I would believe there are more unlimited data users on android devices than iPhone, I used to have unlimited with AT&T but switched to Verizon, no way I would use up my 8 GB PKG to watch videos, besides if I’m away from the house it’s cuz I’m working and don’t have time for bad Netflix then anyway.
And all this in light of the fact that the employment rate of iPhone users is 4x that of Android users.
Now this is something hard to digest.

MDN, your a dick because you apparently believe America has a single social economic class, it doesn’t. You need to get out more. Those individuals that watch that much video via their phones obviously have no problem wasting $100.00 a month on service and it make you wonder what they do all day, I mean don’t they have a home.
Not everyone can afford or wants to pay $80.00-$100.00 a month a cell phone service just so they can watch movies or the YouTube of the day. This doesn’t make them cheapskates or any other colorful putdowns you care to throw around. They’re smarter with their money and have lives.
“MDN your a …” The word you are looking for is actually two words: ‘you are’. This is abbreviated as ‘you’re’. Your education is showing.
A typo is just that, a typo. It is you’re Freudian slip that is showing.
“Your,” not “you’re.” “It is your Freudian slip that is showing.”
Good thing you stayed away from contracting “it is,” moron.
Droooooiiiiid.
“you’re Freudian” means ‘you are Freudian slip is showing’. This is the case where you would use ‘your’ meaning that the Freudian slip belongs to me. Clueless is as clueless does. These are not typos but just a lack of education.
No typo that time, it was intentional. Too bad you missed it.
Perhaps you and I got it but the post was to make it clear to the huge number of dunderheads that constantly post the word ‘your’ when they mean you’re.
Damn @3l3c7ro! Having you patrol this site is like having my grandma here. “It’s your not you’re. Watch the dirty language. Dot your i’s and cross your t’s.” you should change your handle to @buzzkill. Shitballz! Lighten up! I get it! I spelled ballz wrong.
I must have hit a sore spot.
