Today is the 58th anniversary of Steve Jobs’ birth. Jobs was born on February 24, 1955.
Steve Jobs was a college dropout when he teamed up with Steve Wozniak in 1976 to sell personal computers assembled in Jobs’ garage. That was the beginning of Apple, which revolutionized the computing industry and made Jobs a multimillionaire before he was 30 years old. He was forced out of the company in 1985 and started the NeXT Corporation, but returned to his old company in 1996 when Apple bought NeXT. Jobs soon became Apple’s chief executive officer and sparked a resurgence in the company with products like the colorful iMac computer, [Mac OS X, the iPod, and the iPhone]. Jobs was also the CEO of Pixar, the animation company responsible for movies like Toy Story and Monsters, Inc. Pixar was purchased by the Walt Disney Company in 2006 for $7.4 billion in stock; the deal made Jobs the largest individual shareholder of Disney stock.
Some sources list Los Altos, California as Jobs’s place of birth. However, in a 1995 oral history interview with The Smithsonian, Jobs said, “I was born in San Francisco, California, USA, planet Earth, February 24, 1955.” Jobs was given up for adoption after birth and raised by his adoptive parents in Silicon Valley… His biological sister is novelist Mona Simpson, author of “Anywhere But Here.”

There is not a week that goes by where I do not wonder where Apple would be now if Jobs was still alive. WOuld there be a nuclear war against Samsung. Would iWatch be out? Where would the stock be.
All this to say, I, and I am sure many others, miss Steve. He ability to generate excitement over ‘stuff’ and his unparalled way of making us all realize that this is stuff we NEED and desire.

The point is that if he was still alive, today would be his birthday.
There is no point except attempting to elicit a universal sense of sentimentality among the fanboi faithful. It’s obvious that Steve Jobs is no longer manning the helm at Apple. In twenty years his memory will fade and the then present CEO will become the focus of attention.
I think it’s so weird that society tells us we need college to succeed, but some of the people we admire most never finished or never went.
Statistically speaking, a good education (not necessarily a college degree) will provide more lifetime income than failing to obtain a good education. Jobs, Gates, et al are anomalies not axioms.

I believe at some point there will be something in the center of the new “Space Ship” building because I believe Steve Jobs should be at the center and point of origin of everything developing at Apple!
So, Apple, the company co-founded by Jobs and rescued from oblivion by Jobs has no current memorial to their chief architect and savior. Well, that says a lot.

Not like the fanboi faithful who can’t live a day without obsequious deference to their idol. These pathetic souls owe their existence to their worship of Jobs and live vicariously in his memory. Without Steve Jobs their lives have no significance or meaning. It is collective fawning that binds them together. A communion of pointlessness compounded with irrelevance.
