“In January, we reported that Apple will stop selling its current generation Mac Pro in Europe on March 1st over new product regulatory standards,” Mark Gurman reports for 9to5Mac.
“Today, Apple’s Mac Pro desktop computer is showing as “currently unavailable” from several European Apple Online Stores,” Gurman reports. “In line with the regulatory standards only affecting Europe, the computer is still available from the United States online store.”

Yeah the temptation even for us Windows haters to build a high powered Windows box is tempting. Only no Thunderbolt if you do. I really hope Tim Cook surprises and delights the Apple faithful. With only 2005 & 2007 Mac Pro’s I am ready to upgrade.

That’s usually my line to those feeling Mac Pro disenfranchised! You must admit Apple hasn’t kept up for their pro users and that’s an are, more than most of the Mac line, where the desire for current processors, video cards and the like is the most apparent. I suspect the next iteration will make most happy though. I’ve waited this long I can wait a little longer. A lot of people in my industry of VFX go Windows hence my temptation but if you knew me you would know how pro Apple I am and not a fan of Windows so I have one finger down my throat saying it..
Can anybody tell me which particular regulation these Mac Pros fall foul of ?
It has something to do with the fan not being properly guarded to prevent your fingers from coming into contact with the moving blades in an open machine if I remember correctly.
