Apple has debuted two new TV ads for iPad/iPad mini on U.S. broadcast and cable networks.
“With over 300,000 apps, iPad is up for anything you are.”
Each ad features both the 4th-gen iPad with Retina display and the iPad mini.

Is it just me, or are those some forgettable ads?
Not their best ads for sure.
Maybe the worst I’ve ever seen from Apple. They generally do very good commercials. Although they’re not quite as bad as the new Microsoft Surface Pro ads. Now that is scraping the bottom of the barrel.
I think anyone who doesn’t have an iPad would be pretty impressed with some of those apps – especially compared to Android apps.

Okay, today is “President’s Day”.
It is Family Day where I live.
It’s “Linkington’s Birthday”? It’s a bundled Holiday!!
Compare these ads with what Microsloth is putting out for the Surface. Much more content and actual software than the so called “competition”.
No kidding. I’m always bothered by the Surface ad (or is it Windows Phone?) where the gal appears to be video chatting as she gets up off the sofa, but you never actually see the screen.
Microsoft’s ads try to be lifestyle ads whereas Apple shows the device as the hero, doing things (at least iPad ads; iPod was often lifestyle). I prefer to see the device doing something for the hands rather than the user doing something (dancing, clicking, whatever) with the device.
Could be evidence (along with the recently-released 128GB iPad and the latest addition of the Lightning port late last fall) that we aren’t going to see much of a refresh of the iPad line-up this March. New advertising seems to slow down shortly before product updates.
Apple’s ads have gotten really lame lately. I think they need a new agency.

Anyone that can see more than black and white can quickly observe that political belief, especially in the USA, in not just similar to brainwashing but involves marked differences in brain structure and function. American Republicans have greater activity in the amygdala, associated with the flight-fight response (stress response, fear, anger) while Democrats have greater activity in the insula, associated with self awareness and social awareness. These brain structure findings can predict whether some will be a Republican or Democrat with 83% accuracy. It is so far best predictive model known, outperforming the model based on what political beliefs one’s parents have and genetic models. These brain structure alterations go beyond inheritance and suggest that affiliation with a political party and its ideas changes the brain.
“Liberals and conservatives exhibit different cognitive styles and converging lines of evidence suggest that biology influences differences in their political attitudes and beliefs. In particular, a recent study of young adults suggests that liberals and conservatives have significantly different brain structure, with liberals showing increased gray matter volume in the anterior cingulate cortex, and conservatives showing increased gray matter volume in the in the amygdala. Here, we explore differences in brain function in liberals and conservatives by matching publicly-available voter records to 82 subjects who performed a risk-taking task during functional imaging. Many of these uber Libs are the biggest hypocrites, they say they stand for fairness, and open minds, but don’t try to have your own opinions around them or they look down their nose at you like you’re a piece of dirt.
Im not an uber liberal but i do look down on right wingers who use distorted facts,misinformation and outright lies to try and make their argument. Most of the right wingers i run into don’t even have a basic understanding of the issues and facts.

A study should be done on gun owners too and I bet that they would come to the same conclusions.
If a further study was done on republicans and gun owners, I think that they would find a high correlation between the two.
How About a Surface Pro running OS X?
It makes sense that Republicans like to give to *certain* charities and to give more in that sense than Democrats since they both believe in helping people but the difference is their preferred channels of wealth distribution. Republicans believe in individual rather than state distribution of wealth. Democrats believe the opposite. It could be argued that Democrats prefer to pay much more into “charity” with increased taxes.
Total charitable contribution figures are not enough to know because it only scratches the surface of what is going on in the minds of conservative and liberal donors. I’m more interested in the type of charity or cause that is the target as well the end result of that charity, as opposed to simply how much money is given to charity in general. Fortunately this has been studied and duplicated….
