“A recent job posting by Apple looking for an Apple TV software engineer backs up rumors that the company is finally preparing to expand its presence in the living room,” Jordan Kahn reports for 9to5Mac.
“According to the job listing on Apple’s website, the company is looking for someone to ‘lead a team of engineers working on exciting new features and functionality’ for the next-generation Apple TV,” Kahn reports. “Once described by Apple as a hobby, the job listing refers to the Apple TV as a ‘high priority project.'”
Kahn reports, “Reports from analysts about the company planning an event for next month to introduce a new Apple TV SDK were quickly shot down, but other reliable sources have chimed in today and claimed the event is likely scheduled for fall.”

Yeah, because engineering jobs have such low turn over.
Ish just got real
can you imagine how scare are Microsoft, Sony, Nintendo and TV makers right now?
Good that kind of pressure pushes innovation in companies, keep the pressure coming.
LET ME!!!
PEASE, LET ME TRY!
I KNOW I WOULD BE DO GOOD!
LOOK AT WHAT I DID FOR MS.
I call BS.
It’s likely an Apple plant to get the media talking about it. What company would reveal so much in a job posting? In this industry, you’re careful what you say in a posting. They’re more generic and skills focused. “Seeking a Chief Software Engineer for Apple TV. Must be able to lead a team of Engineers. Experience with Java, Agile, Objective-C, ability to work closely with designers and product managers… blah blah”.
But not “high priority”… red flag there. Nice try Apple!
