  1. Last two versions of elements had problems/bugs they worked with me for three hours took over my machine remotely but never fixed the issues… Both versions printing and colour issues
Not a good buy. But what choice do we have

    1. I’ve said it before and while others may disagree — Apple should buy Adobe. The combination of talent would push graphics software to new heights and functionality across the OSX/iOS ecosystem. And a smaller price tag would certainly be welcome for meager upgrades.

      1. I completely agree with you. Using InDesign CS6 and Photoshop CS6 all day long I have to say that these are extremely powerful (but bloated) apps, nothing else is coming close.

Even I love Pixelmator for some RGB tasks there is no other option than Photoshop for real CMYK work. And InDesign is by far the best layout software, including the Digital Publishing Suite Single Edition. (I used Quark XPress half of my business life, but switched when the first version of Creative Suite was released and never looked back.)

If Apple would buy Adobe it would be the ultimate chance for everybody:

        – killing the Windows versions of all those apps, selling more Apple hardware then
        – removing the bloated code coming from cross plattform coding
        – making it to true and native OS X apps behaving like real OS X apps
        – killing Premiere Pro 😉

Oh, that would be really great. Won’t happen, I guess, but what a great idea.

    2. Alternatives to Elements? QUite a few
I would say that in many ways the current Gimp even gives the full blown PS a run for the money (and offers some unique features as well)
      Check out at gimp.org
(I have been using cinepaint (AKA filmgimp) for for wire removal, cleanup & easy roto for years)

  2. I just tried, and the the discount codes aren’t valid in Australia! So much for “additional participating international stores”. This is one of the reasons why Adobe is being forced to appear before a Parliamentary Committee Inquiry into overcharging by software companies. Hey, Adobe: We Australians are sick of being treated as second-class citizens in your world.

Adobe should remember what happened to Quark…that company used to charge exorbitant prices for their main product. Now, Quark have not only greatly discounted their software, they’re now offering two-for-one deals to try and sell their product.
