Apple announces October 23rd special media event: ‘We’ve got a little more to show you’

Apple today sent invitations to a special media event scheduled for October 23, 2012 at the California Theatre in San Jose, California at 10am PDT / 1pm EDT.

Apple is widely expected to unveil the “iPad mini,” a 7.85-inch iPad, but that’s not all. A new 13-inch MacBook Pro with Retina display as well as new Mac mini could also make their debuts alongside the new “iPad mini.”

An all-new iMac is also expected shortly, either at this event or shortly thereafter. Here’s Apple’s invitation image:

    1. This is what I was thinking too. I remembered seeing this on MDN a while back. A fully functional iPad, with ePaper hybrid screen? So it doesn’t have to be “Retina”, but it address a whole other demographic. I figure they’ll highlight the book angle, but show that it’s not just for content consumption.

I’m still hoping the bombshell announcement will be “available at Apple.com … today. Pre-orders today. Ships on the 26th” or something super close. Microsoft has to announce something months in advance. Apple… days, and sometimes hours.

  1. I’m expecting an atv size Mac mini with a hybrid os(iOS Full OSX) or some variation of iOS for the desktop/htpc
Starts at $149 or priced well priced to send all the junk win machines to retirement. Post pc-era take 2!
Extras…maybe a new touch pad with a touch keyboard to control atv
