Samsung adds iPhone 5 to eight patent complaints against Apple

“Samsung’s latest court-based pot shot at Apple adds the iPhone 5 to an ever-growing list Apple devices that it reckons use Samsung-invented tech,” Kate Solomon reports for TechRadar.

“The iPhone 5 features in eight of Samsung’s complaints; six of them are relating to utilities and the other two are to do with the UMTS 3G standard,” Solomon reports.

MacDailyNews Take: Samsung’s FRANDtastic SEP abuse continues.

Solomon reports, “‘The iPhone 5 has the same accused functionality as the previously accused versions of the iPhone, so the proof of infringement of the patents-in-suit by the iPhone 5 is the same as for other Apple devices already accused of infringement in this litigation. We have little choice but to take the steps necessary to protect our innovations and intellectual property rights,’ said Samsung.”

  1. This guys must be fuckin’ joking. They’ve been copying Apple since day one of the original iPhone, what do they have to protect??

The point where this Apple vs Samsung is right now is just stupid and idiotic. Same old shit everyday.

Someone please go Mortal Kombat on Samys ass, FINISH HIM!!!!

    1. It’s unfortunate that the iHaters running amuck on the net are working their asses off enforcing this illusion. The illusion that Apple innovates nothing and that Samsung produces superior products. Apple is suing out of fear and in pursuit of gaining a monopoly.

As idiotic as that sounds, there are a vast number of iHaters who truly believes that. Crazy eh?

      1. You hit the nail on the head Jubei. The fantasy revisionist history among the disingenuous and morally lost Fandroid crowd is a dangerous sight to behold. Akin to those who like to think the Holocaust didn’t happen which granted is far worse but the trend for rationalization biases taken to such a degree is creeping into everything, including tech and politics.

  2. They know they don’t have a case, it’s just a P.R. move to hide their embarrassment at getting caught.

Yea, well we, we’ll show you, we now have just as many cases against you as you have against us! So THERE Apple!

  3. No, it’s unfortunate that Korean companies think they can just use there copy machines and take R&D work from Apple and use it for there own gains. Who came out with the touch screen phone first. Apple. Who came out with the software first, Apple. Who did the R&D work to create such a device. Apple.
The illusion is with Samdung, not Apple. The iPhone was the smartphone revolution made by only one company, Apple.
Those are facts, not any form of fanboy illusions. That goes for the iPad as well, developed by only one company Apple. Nothing came close before Apple created it and those are facts, not illusions. Samdung copied that too.

  4. “…Korean companies think they can just use there copy machines and take R&D work from Apple and use it for there own gains.”

Americans can do a pretty good job of that too, vis a vis Ballmer T. Clown or Bill (I’m a philanthropist!) Gates.
