Ive is the only one at Apple who clearly has the RDF gene now that Steve is gone. Forstall is a close second. Apple really needs to have a charismatic spokesperson. I say this as a lover of Apple products, and as a shareholder.
When Tim Cook speaks, he sounds like a combination of Al Gore and Mr. Rogers. His slow drawl and somewhat wooden presence do little to instill confidence. It’s clear he’s a skilled operations guy, and he takes great pride in the Apple legacy. Watching the latest keynote speech, I think Cook has been getting some coaching in stage presence. He seemed to have added a few new vocal mannerisms that make him sound more genuinely enthusiastic, but he doesn’t really seem natural to me. Also, he has to work at not sounding gay. (Not that there’s anything wrong with that). He’s not a natural performer on stage.
Ive is great in front of a camera in a studio, yet he never takes the stage. Maybe stage fright? Forestall, on the other hand, is truly at home in front of an audience. He’s edgy and has a standup comic’s sense of timing and delivery. He also has a bit of a crazy which apple needs to keep from getting stale. Schiller is likable, but a bit oafish.
Just a few thoughts.
When Cook was hired for his job, he probably was confident to never be in front of a camera or an audience ever.
But fate turned out differently.
I actually sort of like his stage-presence. No need to have yet another I-can-be-Steve person up there.

True. Who would have expected Steve to die relatively young. He seemed careful about his health, what he ate, didn’t run around boozing it up, wasn’t an overweight un-fit side of blubber like Monkey Boy Ballmer who will probably outlive us all. Total injustice.
But his superstitions and spiritual beliefs undid him; his final lesson to all of us: be true to your beliefs—but first be sure they are true.

I would vote for Forstall, passion and energy trump diamonds and spades.
Apple should buy a hunk of ad time on primetime TV and show this in its full length as an ad. People would be riveted and convinced.

Well it can’t be Ive from the future since he is not wearing metallic clothing and a weird perspexy looking hat-helmet. All near future films always show a radical shift in futuristic look but unfortunately when that real future finally arrives it looks more like the same old same old. The fact is people now or a thousand years from now don’t want to live in geodesic domes (unlike there’s seething wrong with the earth’s gravitational pull – yeah that’s heavy Doc.)
Geodesic domes sucked in the 1970’s, they suck now, and they will always suck. Proof – only left wing vegans build them. Also they leak in the pacific northwest, no matter what contractors have tried for insulation, and they certainly won’t deter Atilla the Hun, no matter what’s in your wallet.

I was having a tough time between white or black on this one, but I like the black with slate grey back/two tone coloring. Still it will ultimately be in a strong arse case so it will hardly get seen and most will never even figure out its an iP5 since so many are too inept to notice the different in .5″ height.
