  1. “…a new all-time closing high .”
Yea!! – let’s start firing more employees and see if we can make the customers feel worse than walking into a Best Buy “Going Out of Business Sale”.

    1. Brought my Mac into an Apple Store. 45 minutes AFTER my appointment, a Genius said it would cost $300 to repair.
    2. Thinking something was wrong, while home, I checked on line, it was still under Apple Care! They said nothing when they entered my Mac’s serial number when I was at the store!
3a. I drove another hour back to the Apple store, a different Genius checked and verified I was right. Said it would take 4 days.
3b. While at the the Apple store, on our way out, my friend wanted to buy a keyboard. We waited 10 minutes. Begged for help. Nothing. We dropped the keyboard on a table and left. Store seriously sucks.
    4. After a week, no call. I called them and they said they were not sure about the warranty (it had my own RAM). They SAT on my Mac and did nothing, no call, nothing. But finally decided to honor the Apple Care after I called them. In the past, Apple would just put my RAM in a pink bag, but they would still fix it. Now I must wait another week because they ignored my broken Mac and did nothing.
    5. The “warm fuzzes” have definitely left the building. With no new incredible products, they completely obliterated the final reason to go there. Order online. Stay far away from any Apple Store.

    1. That experience is certainly not the norm. Don’t know anyone who’s had that horrible of an experience in an Apple Store. Our local one is small and extremely busy, and still everyone gets attention quickly. All repairs I have had done, or my clients brought in have been very fast, or they tell you it’s too old to work on at the Store and give you a list of nearby independent Apple repair places that can do the work.
Most Apple stores I’ve been in are overstaffed. If your story is true, it’s certainly not the average experience.

      1. Wondering the same thing, but I will give him the benefit of a doubt.

Apple store service for yours truly has been the best retail experience on the planet. Five stars.

  2. “Apple’s previous all-time closing high was $636.28, set on the last trading day before today, April 9, 2012.”

And I thought the last trading day before today was yesterday… silly me!
