iOS 6 beta 4 hints at new App Store category for Passbook apps

Here’s a brief note:

In Apple’s iOS 6 beta 4, not only is the YouTube app gone, but in Passbook there’s a new button for the App Store. Currently, the button is inactive and it won’t connect to the App Store, but that’s likely to change soon.

With Passbook, you can scan your iPhone or iPod touch to check in for a flight, get into a movie, and redeem a coupon. You can also see when your coupons expire, where your concert seats are, and the balance left on that all-important coffee bar card. Wake your iPhone or iPod touch, and passes appear on your Lock screen at the appropriate time and place — like when you reach the airport or walk into the store to redeem your gift card or coupon. And if your gate changes after you’ve checked in for your flight, Passbook will even alert you to make sure you’re not relaxing in the wrong terminal.

It’s seems likely that a new category in the App Store will soon be added for Passbook-enabled apps.

  1. iOS6? Oh yeah that’s the O/S that won’t work on my 2 year old iPad because apple are already forcing it to obsolescence. Fucking assholes.

All Apple customers should learn from that BS move by Apple. I don’t trust Apple now to buy another iPad because of this BS. That and the fact that iOS 5 bloatware makes my iPad crawl and very unresponsive. Sorry apple we can’t all afford to throw out our iPads every 2 years to buy new ones.
