Jefferies Managing Director Peter Misek today discusses the coming iPhone 5 with Emily Chang on Bloomberg Television’s “Bloomberg West.”
Misek spoke with suppliers in Asia and says that the volume ramps are gradually building this summer and that “the timeline and the behavior of the suppliers is very similar, identical, in fact, to similar launches.”
As for pent-up demand, Misek hardly goes out on a limb, considering that every iPhone has accomplished what he predicts for the next-gen iPhone, but states, “We think this could be the largest and quickest ramp in consumer electronics history.”

Heh. Same as always. This guy at least seems to read the forums
Interesting – especially the part about falling demand in China. That could have a big impact on Apple sales.
Emily Chang is so pretty. I watch her every night on Bloomberg West. It’s an entertaining show.
What “falling demand in China?” He wasn’t right about much else.
Two Billion people. Demand for EVERYTHING is only going UP. :-O
What an ignorant guy.
There is nothing “mechanical” about current touch screen, and its way of working is not related to measuring “pressure”.
Apple only uses capacitive touch screens, they brought this technology to masses. Conductivity of finger changes capacity that is formed between hundreds of horizontal and vertical lines.
i stopped watching the video when I heard him say that. Another analyst that doesn’t know what he’s talking about.
I thought the iPhone and iPad already use inductive touch? According to his statements it sounds like the iPhone uses pressure for touch.
Capacitive. Not Inductive
That ‘analyst’ is a techno moron. The new screen is thinner because it replaces the mechanical pressure touch screen…wtf? It he still using a treo?
Poor guy. “Pressure sensitive”. It’s hard not to feel bad got him.
This was video! LOL He described a Blackberry Storm. Must we guess what phone this piece of work uses? Rule out the phone from Cupertino!
