Apple debuts new TV ad for MacBook Pro with Retina display: ‘Every Dimension’ (with video)

Apple on Monday unveiled their all-new 15-inch MacBook Pro featuring a stunning Retina display, all flash storage and quad-core processors in a radically thin and light design. Measuring just 0.71 inches and weighing only 4.46 pounds, the completely redesigned MacBook Pro sets a new standard in performance and portability for pro users.

“The MacBook Pro with Retina display pushes the limits of performance and portability like no other notebook,” said Tim Cook, Apple’s CEO, in a statement. “With a gorgeous Retina display, all flash architecture and a radically thin and light design, the new MacBook Pro is the most advanced Mac we have ever built.”

The new MacBook Pro with Retina display is the world’s highest resolution notebook display with over 5 million pixels, 3 million more than an HD television.

At 220 pixels-per-inch, the Retina display’s pixel density is so high the human eye cannot distinguish individual pixels from a normal viewing distance, so text and graphics look incredibly sharp. The Retina display uses IPS technology for a 178-degree wide viewing angle, and has 75 percent less reflection and 29 percent higher contrast than the previous generation.

And, now, the new MacBook Pro with Retina display has its own TV ad, “Every Dimension,” voiced by Peter Coyote. It debuted on U.S. broadcast and cable networks last evening:

  1. Glad to see Apple is back to advertising their computers.

With all the advertising emphasis on their other products I was worried the general public would forget they even made them.

      1. I did not mean that this or that type of voice somehow more identifies with the audience/users.

I meant the company itself, people who work there, people who make those Apple presentations all have younger voices. But in the advertisement its like IBM elders’ company.

  2. I should point out that this is the FIRST Apple notebook that is perfect for color matching in professional publication. What makes it that way: The incredible viewing angle. (Watch the video!)

In recent years we’ve had improvements in color reproduction on Apple notebooks, but there has remained a problem with viewing angle. I hereby announce that the viewing angle problem is OVER with this MacBook Pro. Toss in the Retina display resolution, and you’re in love!
