A bombproof case for your Apple iPad

“You probably aren’t expecting your iPad to be hit by an improvised explosive device, but if you are, you might want to secure it in a Pelican case,” Roy Furchgott reports for The New York Times.

“The i1075 Hardback is a hard ABS-plastic case about the size of a pair of 13-inch laptops stacked atop one another,” Furchgott reports. “But the bulk is a fair trade-off for the foam-padded interior, which also has molded compartments for an Apple Bluetooth keyboard, charger and cables. A neat package in all.”

Furchgott reports, “Pelican doesn’t promise its cases will stand up to a bomb, but you can read testimonials from soldiers who say their gear – and sometimes they themselves – were saved by their cases, on the Pelican Web site.”
