Adobe today announced the immediate availability of Adobe Creative Suite 6 software. The CS6 product line includes new releases of Photoshop, InDesign, lllustrator, Dreamweaver, Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, Flash Professional and other products as well as four suite versions – Creative Suite 6 Design & Web Premium; Creative Suite 6 Design Standard; Creative Suite 6 Production Premium; and Creative Suite 6 Master Collection.
Adobe Creative Cloud, a new way of providing tools and services for creatives worldwide is expected to be available on Friday, May 11. A subscription-based offering, Adobe Creative Cloud is a hub for making, sharing and delivering creative work and it is centered around a release of Adobe Creative Suite 6 software consisting of design, Web, video and digital imaging tools. CS6 point product subscriptions will also be available May 11.

“We announced Creative Cloud and CS6 two weeks ago and these releases have caught the imagination of creatives everywhere,” said David Wadhwani, senior vice president, Digital Media Business, Adobe, in the press release. “Today we’re shipping CS6 and look forward to the beginning of an exciting new era as we introduce Creative Cloud later this week.”

Adobe Creative Cloud membership is available to customers in 36 countries and in multiple languages. Pricing for Creative Cloud membership for individuals is US$49.99 per month based on annual membership and US$74.99 per month for month-to-month membership. CS4 did exhibit some strange behaviors. CS5 has been really stable.
I’lll still have to evaluate CS6.
Too bad there is no real professional competition. I am aware of a lot of software that may do things similar to Adobe’s software especially with photo editing but still not the same nor as professional.
I am like most people that think this software is too expensive.
Only Professional Studios and Freelancers need it, some others will buy it, but won’t really make use of it.
Photomator for instance is one real nice substitute to Photoshop.
And there are other substitutes to other Adobe apps, that are surely missing some of the Adobe features, but may serve the vast majority of the Adobe users perfectly !
AND… it is not only the price but also the workflow within Adobe’s products, that makes more and more people looking for other applications.
As we love the typical Apple workflow, we don’t want to work with the brutal complexity of Adobe anymore.
Adding some simplicity while keeping the features is a very hard way for Adobe to go.
Unless the workflow has to be changed in general and completely. But that is never going to happen…

I wish Apple would just buy Adobe. That would be so excellent! Better software for a fraction of the price… Shit, even if it costs more but it’s better and updated frequently, it would be worth it.

You people aren’t very good at math, are you? Do you even know what all comes in the Master Suite? There are four suites to choose from and they get cheaper, by the way. You obviously haven’t looked at the creative cloud pricing, either.
And no… Apple should not buy Adobe just to kill it. Some of us really need these products because Apple killed off their versions of it.
If apple was to purchase Adobe, they would recreate a better piece of software from what Adobe currently offers. Dare I say that Adobe has been pedaling their wares like Microsoft lately. Mundane updates for high prices. NO real advances. I’d just like it to be faster and more stable. I use Photoshop every day, all day. I don’t want it to go away, I just want it to get better!

I agree Final Cut Pro was such a great program, now I am looking at Premier because the new interface on FCP is retarded. Plus, Apple would just add gestures to all the Adobe Apps if they bought them out.
