Apple plans to conduct a conference call to discuss Q212 financial results on Tuesday, April 24, 2012 at 2pm PDT/5pm EDT.
As usual, MacDailyNews plans to cover the call with live notes.
On January 24, 2012, Apple CFO Peter Oppenheimer gave Q212 guidance of “revenue of about $32.5 billion” and “diluted earnings per share of about $8.50.”
Current analysts’ consensus estimates call for $36.64 billion in revenue and $9.99 EPS.
On April 24th, the webcast will be available here.
What does it say when “analysts” are *only* calling for a 17.5% upside relative to quarterly EPS guidance for a massive consumer electronics company?
Analysts often wax poetic about an EPS upside of $0.05 to $0.10, and here they are expecting $1.49! Of course, Apple has a history of low-balling guidance and beating analyst expectations. But it is still mind-boggling when you are talking about such increasingly large numbers.
