      1. … Except Apple remain consistently BEHIND the Oracle Java updates for Windows. Apple is MONTHS behind schedule, same as ever.

        In this case, there has been Java exploit malware for Mac users out on the net for over a week. The exploit was in Apple’s CURRENT (previous to today) version of Java, meaning that EVERYONE was susceptible. THAT’S BAD.

        (The exploit is in a recent version of the Flashback Trojan horse series. It uses a website Drive-By infection method that doesn’t require an Admin password to install itself. Thank Oracle for that crapcode security hole).

        What we REQUIRE is Mac Java updates AT THE SAME TIME as Windows Java updates.

        Unpatched active Java exploits on Macs is UNACCEPTABLE. Attention Apple!

        I wrote up a rant about the subject today at my Mac-Security blog:

        CRITICAL Java Update for Mac OS X 10.6 and 10.7 -> 2012-001

  1. hmmmm; going to wait

    When I download the installer and open, I get this message;
    “There may be a problem with this disk image. Are you sure you want to open it? Opening this disk may make your computer less secure or cause other problems.”

    Anybody else?
