“Following Retina display-ready updates to its own suite of software, Apple has updated its iTunes Movie Trailers app [free] for the new iPad,” Sam Byford reports for The Verge.
“While we can’t confirm the actual resolution that’s being displayed, and the streaming quality is always dependent on your connection, it appears that Apple has made the 1080p trailers available to view on the new iPad,” Byford reports. “If you’re looking for content to show off your new toy’s unique selling point [Retina display], the iTunes Movie Trailers app could be a good place to start.”

I find it hard to believe that people on these boards actually voted to give Tim Cook anything but a Good or better rating for the way he manages Apple.

Cook is following in the footsteps of the legendary and much-loved Steve Jobs and has been under substantial scrutiny. However, rather than doing nothing out of fear of screwing up, Cook has demonstrated the nads to venture out from under SJ’s shadow and do his own thing (e.g., dividends).
Apple is doing extremely well and Cook hasn’t made any significant missteps. Since Cook has only been at the helm of a Jobless Apple for a short time, I find it difficult to downgrade him. The recent price trend of AAPL supports my position…excellent until proven otherwise.

I disagree. Cook has always followed his own drummer. He is the reason why Apple is as strong as it is today. It’s one thing to build better mousetraps, but, when the world beats a path to your door, you had better be prepared to serve them all.
Cook has delivered. He is wicked smart where logistics are concerned.
Jobs and Ive cooked up the gadgets but it was Cook who saw to it that they were made, shipped, and delivered.
I guess what I’m saying is, Jobs was a scattered businessman and NeXT was proof and had he not hired Cook when he took control of Apple Computer, Inc. in 1997, we wouldn’t be singing his praises, or Apple’s for that matter.
Apple stock has moved past 600 to Cook’s credit.
I believe Tim Cook has been doing fantastic things for quite some time now and will hopefully get the credit he fully deserves. He doesn’t appear to have a big ego which I find refreshing and he is known to be a gentleman. Nice guys don’t finish last! He is a fabulous CEO and will grow to be even better.
