I agree. And then they’ll be next year, where history will repeat.
In two years, the other tablets will still not be equal to the current iPad.
Not just “large-screen”, but any kind of tablet.
They gave the new iPad 4.5 stars. If they are honest, no other device in any category would deserve 5 stars then.

I went looking for their rationale for the 4.5 stars and couldn’t find it. The give the Fire and an Asus 4 stars. It maybe the 5 stars is for perfection in every way they can think of. Gives Apple something to strive for.
I’m concerned that some have a yellow tint due to “glue issues”? that are supposed to resolve in about a week?…
I dread another “antennagate..”
This comes up every time a new iOS device comes out. It happened with the 4S, the iPad 2, the iPhone 4, etc. and every time people on the web make it out to be the end of the world (not saying you are).
The problem is real, although very isolated. My first iPhone 4 had this issue. I waited a week to see if it would clear up, and it did to an extent, but I just took it into the Apple store for no questions ask replacement. It isn’t a big deal, and Apple stands behind their products, so if affected, just take it back and get a new one. 🙂
If you end up with one the has a yellow screen, go to the next Apple store, they’ll exchange it for you, like they did for me when I got my iPad 2.

If the camera already take the best pictures of any mobile device, why the hell do you want settings? besides that, there tons of camera apps with settings.

Others have mentioned the low power BlueTooth and that seems to be a major upgrade to allow use with so much more efficient hardware & a broader array of iPad accessories.

That, my friends, is the very definition of a great tablet. Everything else is gravy. Apple’s competitors would do well to burn that into their foreheads.

Flash needs to die a quick, merciful, quiet death. Be thankful that your iPad doesn’t play it.
You know that Flash for mobile devices is discontinued, right? Apple and Microsoft already won that battle. Why are you bringing this back up again? That’s like complaining about the G5 processor still not hitting 3GHz… that was so yesterday.

Not a Retina Display.
The current iPod touch has the same Retina Display as iPhone 4/4S…
And iPad 2 does not have a Retina Display. You’re saying it didn’t qualify as the “finest large-screen tablet” before “The new iPad,” just because it did not have a Retina Display? 🙂
An iPod touch is not a phone, so I think the best description for it (besides “media player”) is actually “small-screen tablet.”
The small screen tablet they’re referring to is the iPhone.
