“Flat screen maker LG Display Co Ltd is supplying touch-screen panels for Apple Inc’s new iPad, a source close to the matter said on Wednesday,” Miyoung Kim reports for Reuters.
“‘LG is also in a panel supply deal with Samsung for the new iPad,’ the source said,” Kim reports. “The source was not authorized to speak to the media and declined to be identified.”

Good. Not only should apple avoid being stuck with samsung as their only supplier, but they probably need all the displays they can get their paws on…
Contract is with Slamdung, but they outsource it to both LG and Sharp and are too ashamed to admit this.
Still doubt that Samsung is making displays for iPad/iPhone, since these are specifically IPS displays (which would require license from IPS inventor, Hitachi Display, which Samsung does not have), not usual ones like in iPods or MBAs, for example.
Some day Apple will be Samsung-Free! both directly and indirectly. I’m sorry Apple ever had to deal with those parasitic cloner mighty mites.
