Apple posts iTunes 10.6, iPhoto 9.2.2, and GarageBand 6.0.5 for Mac users

Apple has just posted the following updates for Mac users:

iTunes 10.6: Adds the ability to play 1080p HD movies and TV shows from the iTunes Store.
This release also includes many improvements for iTunes Match, including:
• Improved song matching
• Improved album artwork handling, downloading, and display
• Addresses an issue where songs may skip when playing from iCloud

iPhoto 9.2.2: Photos can now be deleted from Photo Stream

GarageBand 6.0.5: Supports general compatibility and addresses overall stability and performance, including the following:
• Updates compatibility with GarageBand for iOS projects
• Fixes a playback issue with the GarageBand Lesson preview videos
• Corrects issues with some software instruments triggering incorrect or stuck notes

All three are available via Software Update and also as standalone installers.

  1. The new version of iPhoto is a disappointment: you still can’t sort, still no way to see a detailed list of file names, type, sizes and dates. You have to jump through a hoop to delete photos.

    When I tried to post a review on the App Store, it threw an error of “you can’t review it because you haven’t bought or downloaded it”, while showing that it was installed. And the first reviewer said, “I haven’t bought it yet but I’m sure I’ll like it.”

    I’d say Apple rushed this to market without properly testing it.

  2. …and, fwiw, the new ability to delete photos from Photo Stream DOES reduce the file size of “Other” on the iPhone, thus allowing you to use the space for other things.
