“We’ve been told by an Apple Store source who has been reliable in the past that preparations are being made for a big Apple Store event which will culminate on Friday, March 16th,” Seth Weintraub reports for 9to5Mac.
“Naturally, this points to an iPad 3 launch on the Friday just nine days after tomorrow’s announcement,” Weintraub reports. “We’ve previously noted that an Apple Store in London at the world famous Harrod’s will open on that date as well as a new Store in Houston.”

Thats what a guy you text me said. I have my ipad2 for sale on Craigslist and he asked to pay $500 for it cuz the iPad 3 HD will be out the 16th. And bestbuy would be selling 64 gig wifi/3G for $599. I thought how does he know,’still rumors. I said nah.
I’m aiming to sell it to someone who doesn’t know it’s coming out. Lol I’ll keep it before it goes for that’s. Is what ill prolly be doing anyhow. Someone was suppose to take for $650 tonight but no call. he musta found out about the new one.

You might try advertising it for sale in outer Mongolia. I understand that there are still one or two people there who haven’t heard that it’s coming out. Although you’ll need to be quick because once it’s actually out, even they will hear the news.
No doubt. Once it’s out I’ll be keeping it and giving it to someone I know and get the next version. There are people who don’t read up about all this. Call it dumb ass pride maybe? Though I can still get decent money for it, I’d rather give it to someone I know would love it then take a $400 hit on it.
Just sucks, two weeks ago it could of gotten $150-200 more. That’s the way the cookie crumbles I guess.
This iPad 3 launch date was first revealed by TechzTalk in February when everyone was talking about late March or April release.
But it won’t come with 1TB of storage nor 4 GBs of RAM, so no sale here.
The upside is that it won’t have the $3k price tag either.
My sisters husbands nephew (who has a friend who works for Phil Shiller) and she heard that the iPad 3 will have 2TB of flash storage and 8GB of ram (and have dual 4 core processors!!)
It will also have USB, PS2 and a Centronics printer port (for the legacy dot matrix printers out there.)
Yep the iPad 3 will definately be out when it’s out.

Hopefully we will be able to preorder with delivery by the 16th the latest. Patience is not one of my virtues.
I have a feeling that the timing of all this is, among other reasons, so that there are enough days for people to line up in front of stores for the launch (9 days provides enough time for a very loud buzz).
