“As expected, Apple on Monday announced an event to show off the company’s next generation iPad,” Jim Dalrymple reports for The Loop.
“The invitation, sent to me by Apple, says the event will take place at 10:00 am on Wednesday, March 7, 2012 at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in San Francisco,” Dalrymple reports.

Lighting on the hand is weird: How is the thumb being lit up blue like that? Photoshop chop. It’s usually not so obvious in Apple artwork / advertising.

Ballmer is quaking in his boots now. 9 month head start before the first Windows 8 tablets make their appearance.
But, he likes their strategy….he likes it a lot.
My iPad 1 will have a new friend! ^_^
Mine, too!
Yippee!
Reblogged this on Piotr H. PhotoBlog and commented:

Just a thought.
Lame, I’l pass this one.
But … Apple has better strategy than you could imagine 🙂 … sorry.
CNBC could still have some truth on this. Just because the event is hosted in San Fran doesn’t mean that NYC can’t play a key role in the presentation. Speculating here, but when you have a device that does Facetime, and AirPlay, and has 4G LTE connectivity, and may be released in conjunction with a new television device/appliance that may have similar functionalities, I would expect NYC to be the logical choice for a connectivity demonstration.
I hadn’t thought of that, you may be right 🙂
Maybe they will use NY to demo that new map functionality we know is coming. The crazy realistic one?
The city is irrelevant.
It’s the iPad 3 that is the focus.
I’m jazzed and someone will get my iPad 1. 🙂
Interesting photo… No home button?
Or being held in landscape orientation. Who knows!
I bet some poor sap at Apple just lost their job…
Is it a coincidence that just minutes before the official invitations went out for this event that Neil Hughes reported (in error) that it would be held in NY…
Someone was purposely given misinformation so that if it were leaked they could identify the leak.
Personally I would love it if they got rid of that sharp edge on the iPad, just too damn uncomfortable. A little lighter would be nice as well. It looks great but holding when I am in bed watching a movie or reading a book kills me.
I could just hang it from the ceiling though.
Making it lighter basically means reducing the size of the battery, since that’s what makes up most of the iPad’s internal components. I’d rather have the battery life.
OR do some exercises so you weren’t a weak fat slob.
This site cracs me up. Such high active presence of moronic fanatics. Albo gets clobbered because he hopes that next iPad is lighter?!? What did he do so wrong to offend the idiots? Never mind that this is major trend and very realistic wish.
It’s one of the special qualities that make this site so attractive, similar to a 19th century carnival with its freak shows replete with monstrosities and geeks, acrobats and tricksters, pickpockets and barkers, diverting you with mumbo-jumbo, numbing your mind with fantastic nonsense, draining your will by twisting logic and common sense into pretzels. In yor weakened state you hardly notice the gates being opened for the herd of ravening political trolls…
So one comment from one person makes this a site full of moronic fanatics… Come on over , you can paint my house with that broad brush of yours.
It will probably be flat and sport a touchscreen
Look @ the size of that thing it ain’t no 9.7 inches.
