CNBC: New York a ‘key location’ for unveiling Apple’ quad-core ‘iPad 3’ with 4G

“The city of New York will play a ‘key’ role in the Apple’s unveiling of its third-generation iPad next week, a device expected to pack a quad-core processor and 4G LTE connectivity, financial news network CNBC claimed on Tuesday,” Neil Hughes reports for AppleInsider.

“In a live report Tuesday morning, the network cited anonymous sources who indicated an event will be held in New York to announce the third-generation iPad,” Hughes reports “Those same people reportedly indicated Apple’s next tablet, which it said will have a quad-core CPU, will go on sale on March 9.”

Hughes reports, “However, Jim Dalrymple of The Loop immediately took to Twitter to declare CNBC ‘wrong.’ Dalrymple has a proven track record with respect to Apple’s plans. CNBC’s Jon Fortt later took to the air to clarify that he has heard that New York City will be a “key location” in next week’s anticipated iPad event.”

MacDailyNews Take: As a general rule: When it comes to Apple, listen to Dalrymple.

  1. Why would Apple change its history of important product announcements and go to NYC? Just so Tim Cook can take a cross-country trip? I’m sure he would not be pleased with having to trek cross-country twice (there and back), missing important time in Apple HQ, just to announce a new iPad which could just as easily be done in San Francisco, Cupertino, etc.

I guess CNBC, being located in NYC, is just like most other New Yorkers: they put far to much importance on themselves.

  2. I agree, NYC is not the center of the universe. Sadly, no one has told them that and their vanity-generated reality distortion field prevents any facts from entering an 80 mile radius without being twisted beyond all recognition. I have hated every visit there.

  3. Apple is sending out invitations to the event — it is not in New York (SURPRISE!). It says the event will take place at 10:00 am on Wednesday, March 7, 2012 at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in San Francisco.

    1. Yeah, yeah, yeah . . . everyone with more money, education, intelligence, skills, and social position than I (have) is evil and going straight to Hell. The same old, same old, same old rant. Don’t look now, pap, but your envy is showing.

      1. And exactly how is living in a dump like NYC make one smarter, wealthier, more intelligent , more skilled or “higher” in class?
I’m sure the homeless guy in the Bronx has a Columbia PhD, a Barclays International Account, is in Mensa, plays Guitar like Django, and screws society chicks every night.

        1. Actually that homeless guy does all that. And he shares blow with A-Rod.

Deadbeats in New York have it all over even the kingpins in any other metropolis. Bow down.
