Dell’s your computer if you like to snap photos of naked fat guys farting (with video)

Via The Loop by Jim Dalrymple & Peter Cohen, a 3:30 video profiling Clayton Sotos from Dell’s new ‘Visual Innovators’ series.

“Renowned photographer Clayton Sotos is the first Innovator for our new ‘Visual Innovators’ series,” Dell’s “Visual Innovators” Vimeo channel explains.

Dell exhorts: Follow his artistic process as he gathers inspiration from city life.

MacDailyNews Take: If not a hoax, this vid is designed expressly to go viral, but horribly misconceived. It plays exactly like a pre-recorded SNL parody.

BTW: Apple should sue to have that iPhone 4S in Sotos’ hand pixellated beyond recognition. God only knows what Sotos is pinching and zooming.

[UPDATE: 5:01pm ET: Dell disavows: “This video is in no way affiliated with Dell, but it’s great to see creative professionals get inspiration from using our products. Our dell.com/takeyourownpath program is all about celebrating people who take their own professional path. Regarding this parody, we consider imitation to be the sincerest form of flattery.”]

  1. And who the heck would take the advice of an ugly-as-sin chain-smoking guy with snot hanging out of his nose? He had no personality, no warmth, no friendly smile, nothing that would make me want to explore a Dell. And of course the subject of his photo shoot – photos of dust being blown into the air by flatulence? Give me a break! Dell has truly hit (round) rock bottom with this one. What’s next? A video of a Dell-inspired colonoscopy?

  2. What is it we are but a puff of smoke, and a facilitator of moments. Moment’s moments, as the creation of gas which explodes into nothingness, a certain net asset value, puff, yes a puff in the wind, that is what we make, our total market cap if you will. the value goes, puff, puff, a fart in the wind then down down like, madness. From 18 to 17 in a puff of a facilitated moment. Gone gone your investment vanishes like corpulent gas. O Mikey O Mikey. The horror. the horror.

  3. Some here think it is from The Onion, but it is not it is real and the video has the dell name on it on Vimeo. This is the sickest thing I have seen in years. If Dell approved this then they should be put out of business. I will use this video to show why you should NOT buy a dell product. I will also close my Vimeo account.

  4. Dell disavows: “blahblahblah… Regarding this parody, we consider imitation to be the sincerest form of flattery.”

Yeah, but this isn’t imitation. It’s PARODY, like you said. Parody ≠ flattery. It means something else entirely. Hey Dell, you might want to WAKE UP IN THERE!

  5. You still don’t get it? Let’s examine the script:

“It INSPIRES me. (Do you see it? Do you feel it?)….” We’re talking about a Dell Inspiron PC here. The video is riddled with puns and horrific reference to what’s going on. It’s scary funny.

And now I’m scarred for life.

  6. Look I am no fan of Dell, however Dell can not let this continue. This is not satire. Well it is, but there is no way to tell that Dell did not produce this video therefore there is every reason to believe this is real, except the farts. Therefore, they need to sue for clarity.

I mean it’s so well done, you believe it’s serous up unit the very last moment, when the “smoke” billows.
