Apple Store Amsterdam to celebrate grand opening on Saturday, March 3rd

The Apple Retail Store in Amsterdam will celebrate its Grand Opening on Saturday, March 3rd at 10am.

This store has been a long time in the making and restoration. Located on the Leidseplein in southern downtown district of Amsterdam, this will be Apple’s 362 store. With this new store in Amsterdam, this will be the 13th country that Apple has opened a retail store and the 9th language (if you count Cantonese separate from Mandarin).

Destined to be a Flagship store and one of the largest Apple Retail Stores in the world, it’s likely be one of the most beautiful and busiest.

Gary Allen reports for ifoAppleStore.com, “The store will be on the ground floor and mezzanine of the historic Hirsch Building in city center, with the two levels connected by a spiral glass staircase.”

“The interior of the store is reminiscent of the Opéra (Paris) store, according to spy photos, with a tall ceiling, ornate support pillars and many other renovated historic details,” Allen reports. “The store has been under construction since May 2011, and last week the restored exterior was finally revealed when the construction barricade was removed. Since then the windows have been covered in ‘royal orange’ plastic printed with the words ‘Coming Soon.'”
