“Taiwan-based LED chipmaker Genesis Photonics is expected to enter the supply chain of Apple’s TV lineup by supplying LED chips to Sharp for LED-backlight applications, according to industry sources,” Siu Han and Jackie Chang report for DigiTimes.
“The market indicated that Genesis became the LED epitaxy supplier for Sharp’s LED TVs in 2011,” ,” Han and Chang report. “In 2012, the firm further received certification for its LED chips, this will likely enhance its cooperation with Sharp.”
