Six armed teenagers rob Apple Store Scottsdale Quarter, three get caught

“Early on the morning of January 3rd, six armed teenagers broke into the Apple Store at Scottsdale Quarter by shattering the front glass,” Buster Heine reports for Cult of Mac. “The crew made quick work of the store and stole between $70,000 – $80,000 worth of merchandise. The burglary occurred before business hours and fortunately no one was harmed. Spotting the thieves as they were fleeing the scene, a local cab driver followed their vehicle down the street. Noticing the trailing cab, the thieves fired two shots at the cab, but both missed and the cab driver was uninjured.”

Heine reports, “Scottsdale Police managed to catch up to three of the burglars a few streets down from where the cab driver last saw them. 19-year-old James Combs, 18-year-old Daniella Sierra and an unnamed 17-year-old were taken into custody on suspicion of felony burglary and weapons charges… Some of the stolen merchandise has been recovered, but police are still searching for the three other persons involved in the heist.”

    1. Am I the only one who would like a “back” button integrated into the MDN iPad app for I click on an article. I’d like to be able to click “back” and end up exactly where I left off, instead of having to tap the headline in the left column. Sorry to post this here, but I’m not sure how to send this suggestion to MDN.

      1. I totally agree with you. This app is one of the most brain-dead out there. I can only imagine that MDN is not making sufficient income to pay for a halfway decent app. How hard could it really be?

      2. Far from it. But, don’t waste your brainpower hoping for a fix. These guys have been promising fixes for a long time, even responding to emails with what turns out to be outright lies about when changes will arrive.

They really seem to not give a crap about their user base.

        1. Just out of curiosity, how many times have you clicked thru on an ad on this site and bought a product so that MDN could collect their take? I have tried once, but it didn’t work for whatever reason, and, since there’s no back button, it makes it even harder. I would guess the only revenue they’re getting is from the display of ads (relatively speaking), so the business model doesn’t really work all that well I shouldn’t think. Hard to expect much based on such a model in terms of user experience. And yet, it’s all MDN really has to offer, being in the business of re-publishing information that can be found elsewhere and providing a forum for people with nothing better to do with their time to rant about the unfairness of it all, or how the liberals are going to (or already have) mess up this once great country (U.S.).

  1. If these idiots were shooting at the cabbie then show no mercy….fry the little fskers. Sorry, robbery is one thing, attempting to kill is another. There are situations where I am NOT a liberal.

      1. I often wonder why people like you are so hateful. I suppose that it somehow makes you feel better about yourself that you can project your self-hatred onto others with no rational reason.

        It is sad and pathetic!

    1. We’re handing out the death penalty for not killing people, now?

Buster’s got a little comprehension fail. That’s what happens when you get your news from Klan meetings(see what I did there?).

      1. OTHER than the crimes related to unauthorized entry, the VAST MAJORITY of illegal aliens (wetbacks) commit very few crimes. It has been hypothesized they are too busy a) working and b) hiding to mess around. Their KIDS, on the other hand, make up for the difference.
And, I really don’t care if Resendiz and all of the other exceptions prove the rule in your back yard. They are STILL the exceptions, not the rule.
BTW: why are all the rabid right-wing comments still out there while my more moderate comment is gone? Did I make light of the wrong “contributor”?

        1. You mean ‘why are all the moderate comments still out there and your leftist ones are gone’, don’t you? It’s all a matter of perspective.

Look, the vast majority of ANY society commit very few crimes.
Who cares what has been hypothesized?
Are you from an area with a high illegal immigrant population?
Have you ever worked around them?
Do you know any of their relatives?

I don’t know that the rate is any higher, but to claim they are too busy or scared to commit crimes is ridiculous.
How about I hypothesize that illegal on illegal crime is probably higher than white on white, but goes under-reported because of the fear of retribution or deportation? Sounds plausible. Let’s now accept that as fact….Oh, peer review….I need you….(Now come on. Please…I’ll agree with one of yours!)

Wait….could your comments be directed to those that want better border security because of all that over-hyped crime?

          Sorry, I was just hypothesizing….

        2. Stating that “the vast majority of” ANY group commit very few crimes is plain on its face. The question is not “what percentage of the group commits crimes,” it’s “what percentage of the crimes are committed by the group.” When looked at that way, things become far clearer. But I’m relatively sure that you know that.

    1. Wow. You are against racism, and then you automatically assume it is a ‘redneck’ that said that crap?

Do you really understand what ‘prejudiced’ means?
It applies to more than just race.

  2. Coincidentally, Microsoft’s flagship store at Scottsdale Fashion Square reported seeing six armed teenagers at nearby Nordstrom. “Thankfully, those kids didn’t hit our store,” said an employee. “We’ve never had anything stolen here.”

        1. Where guns are outlawed, only the outlaws will have guns. If you really want to be the disarmed one at that point, by all means hold onto your delusion that guns shoot people, rather than people shooting people.

        2. Yes, it’s why we aren’t still subjects of Her Royal Majesty.

It’s also why the government is afraid of its citizens. I take it the government has nothing to fear in Britain?

  3. From the local news they looked like little meth heads lol

I don’t know about the amount estimate in the article but if they broke one of those doors that’s close to another $50000. Just a rumor I heard…
