Apple’s special media event to focus on iBooks

“Apple will be holding a product event later this month in New York, Kara Swisher is reporting, and we’ve confirmed independently with a source,” Alexia Tsotsis reports for TechCrunch.

    1. So you failed to read the bit that says:
“Tsotsis reports, “According to the source the event will not involve any hardware at all and instead will focus on publishing and… will unveil improvements to the iBooks platform…”
It was perfectly clear to me, so how come you missed it?

  1. If it’s not “major” why waste time and money on a media event??? It will only sow the seeds of disappointment and more “post-Jobs Apple is faltering” if they waste the media’s time on a non-“major” release.

    1. No seeds of disappointment here. Apple are smart, and I’m sure they’ve taken charge of the leaks to make sure no one gets their hopes up. “No hardware; Not a major event.” etc. etc. Nip the rumor mill in the bud.

  2. On a general note, I think Apple need to put book apps within iBooks. It seems silly that you can get books in two places depending on how they’re published and how media rich they are. Splitting out book apps from the app store would probably also declutter it a fair bit.
