Congressman Edward J. Markey (D-Mass.), co-Chairman of the Bi-Partisan Congressional Privacy Caucus, on Friday asked the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) to investigate the practices of software company Carrier IQ.
Rep. Markey’s request follows news that Carrier IQ software installed on millions of smart phones and mobile devices is tracking every keystroke of users and sending the information back to the software company without user knowledge or permission.
Rep. Markey’s letter asks the FTC to investigate the matter as a possible unfair or deceptive act or practice.

this is gonna end up being a very big story.
that depends on whether or not any of the Kardashians are involved.
+!!
And if they aren’t, the masses won’t care.
Markey! He likes it! Hey Markey!
The snowball has acquired another layer, and incremented its momentum.
Look out below.
Starting to notice a very disturbing pattern here
between the republicans and democrats in their reactions to these privacy violation issues. It seems like it’s always a democrat galvanizing themselfs into action on these matters. Where are my republican brethrens.
Well, don’t expect to Herman in the mix.
The woman that was raising Cain brought him down…
I really, really need to get my eyeshit checked…
Since you can’t fix stupid, you’re fuk’d anyways.
For all the rhetoric Republicans spew about being strong and independent, they go silent whenever their corporate overlords are exposed doing something like this. As incompetent as the Democratic idiots are, at least in this instance they seem to represent the interests of the people.
Maybe as co-chairman, he is speaking with one voice for the caucus.
And maybe the entire group is trying to do some good

But then maybe some are swayed by one small news snippet…..
… isn’t it?
Too often, this sort of thing goes un-noticed by the Republican fan-bois, or they defend their politicos for their failure to act. “It’s a corporate right to …” etc. Or the Democratic fan-bois to defend their typically spineless overlords.
Quite nice to see at least ONE of these groups show up to defend the Constitution they have sworn to defend!
All those saying what a big deal this CIQ is are the SAME people that were saying how irrelevant the Wikileaks comments were just a few hours ago. What a steamy pile of hypocrites!!!
Sorry, nobody understands or cares about your point, or your life, since we all filed under “bullshit” everything posted by “paul”.
