Apple has debuted a new television ad for iPad 2, “Love,” on U.S. broadcast and cable networks.
The ad’s voiceover reads:
For some, it’s a life-long passion. For others, it’s something discovered yesterday. We all have things that speak to us. They drive us to get up early… and stay up late. Getting lost in the things we love has never felt quite like this.
Apple – iPad 2 – TV Ad – Love
[Thanks to MacDailyNews readers too numerous to mention individually for the heads up.]
Sheesh… another ad that does nothing but spout specs. When will Apple learn?!
heh
But the voice of this guy is still too old; I have no idea why people are so overexcited about it.
I understand that older audience is very important, but they do not have to use the same voice for all of their iPad advertisements.
Peter Coyote has simply a real great and likable voice. It’s emotional, not pseudo-uberhip. It’s classy, not bling. His voice connects to the audience, not screams and yells at them like Ballmer. It’s not about only the older audience. It’s just Apple.

That’s not the Apple way.
You just ruined my morning. 😉
Apple has used and uses now (for products other than iPad) many great voices. These “connect” really well and they did/do not sound too old.
What, no robots or atom smashers?
Apple needs more ads with ninjas and lightning bolts. That’s the only way to really convince people how cool your product is.
More cowbell.
On every non-apple phone/tablet ad I’ve seen there is always the small gray type at the bottom that says “Screen images simulated” while all Apple usually has is “Some sequences shortened” I think that’s very telling, right there.
What do you mean. Nothing describes a great new smartphone or tablet like a sci-fi scene where you get bionic arms on your next Mars mission…

i don’t mind the ad but its different. i bet jobs did not see this one. this one just doesn’t fit with the other ads on ipod, ipads, and iphones.
Perfect
The ad is Perfect.
What?!? It’s just like the other iPad ads, where they show you what it can do.
What is the music app that they show 5 second in? It looks really interesting.
The Music App is Meteor Multitrack Recorder, for iPad. A great 12 track high-end mixing app, btw.
nope, it’s stompbox, a guitar effects app
its StompBox http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/stompbox/id392607732?mt=8
