“Demand for Apple’s new iPhone 4S is so high that the company can’t keep enough of them in stock, and customers at Apple stores, AT&T stores, Verizon Wireless stores, and Sprint stores are leaving empty-handed if they haven’t reserved an iPhone 4S in advance,” Bill Snyder reports for InfoWorld. “Lack of inventory is never a good business strategy, but in this case, the red-hot demand comes despite a barrage of negative publicity about problems, and alleged problems, with the iPhone 4S’s software.”
“The news comes from a survey by Deutsche Bank analyst Chris Whitmore, who found that nearly all of the 30 Apple stores he checked were running out of phones every day,” Snyder reports. “Demand that heavy is even more striking given that more than 4 million were sold in the first three days the new iPhone was available.”
Snyder reports, “Consumers apparently have a lot more faith in Apple than they do in the Chicken Little tech press that seemingly panics any time a user files a complaint on a vendor website — and despite my ink-stained DNA, I have to agree with them.”

A dumber bunch of people don’t exist.
Even though the phones are selling extremely well, the stock is down 3 points today and investors think that Apple is cutting back on production. Apple just can’t get a break no matter what.
I just picked up my iP4S 64GB today! Reserved it last night, they asked for my first name and initial when I got there, found my reservation right away, and I was outta there with my grubby paws on my fresh phone in maybe 15 minutes. Several people got there before me, too, and it was still fairly quick.
The maul was pretty dead this morning, except for the Apple Store.
Now I’m just waiting for all my music and stuff to transfer to the new phone. It’s working perfectly during the sync, too. I’ve just been iMessaging someone in Florida while it does its syncing business. iOS 5 rocks. Can’t wait to try Siri (I’m letting everything finish up, first).

iPhone 4 with 1.7% return rate is ‘Antennagate’ but no one cares about Android phones with 30% return rates.
Antennagate ends up as fodder even for late night talk shows and Consumer reports “don’t recommend” listing.
Mobile Flash was a mess on cheaper underpowered Android phones (and cheap phones made up the bulk of android sales) and the press gave the issue a pass for years – giving 4 stars ratings to phones that had batteries dying in 3 hours, attacking apple instead for not carrying Flash.. until of course this week when Adobe abandons it..
no wonder aapl has a P.E (ex cash) of around 10 and Amazon has a P.E of 110 (ten times appl!)
If people really want it, they won’t be empty handed for long. I ordered my iPhone 4S at Verizon on Saturday 11/5/2011. I was notified by email that it was sent via overnight FedEx on Tuesday 11/8/2011. I received it around noon on 11/9/201. iOS 5.0.1 is out today. Can’t go wrong!
