Apple iPad out in first round as Lenovo ThinkPad tablet wins ‘2011 Tablet World Series’

“The [online poll] votes have been counted and we have a winner in the 2011 Tablet World Series,” Laptop Magazine reports. “Lenovo’s ThinkPad Tablet takes the crown with a commanding 63 percent of the vote to the Sony Tablet S’s 37 percent share.”

Apple’s iPad 2 was eliminated in the first round by the ASUS Eee Pad Slider.

“With strong features like a scratch-resistant Gorilla Glass display, support for enterprise-level security software / encryption, and an optional active stylus, the ThinkPad Tablet simply dominated the game this weekend,” Laptop Magazine reports. “Users were undoubtedly also attracted by the ThinkPad Tablet’s productivity-centric software, including its note-taking app and file manager. Full-size USB ports and SD card slots also helped the ThinkPad tablet’s case.”

Hilarity ensues in full here.

    1. Looks like Bedford Communications’ new business strategy after their bankruptcy last year is to gin up page views for their advertisers by riding the anti-Apple FUD gravy train. So predictable. So lame.

      1. Agree — iPad has scratch-resistant display, support for enterprise-level security software / encryption, and an optional active stylus (yes, even that — though it is not thin enough for small scale handwriting).

  1. It gets even better: the Kindle Fire got further in the “competition” than the iPad 2… and it’s no one’s even used it yet!

Well, Laptop Mag will now be my ‘go-to’ resource for authoritative reviews, it’s even better than Consumer Reports!

  2. Whatta bundge of morons….i am pretty sure that the counts where made on a MS Pc and it couldn’t read the words Apple, iPad 2, in is system, some kind of coding error

  3. ooooooo! I can Haz USB Ports and SD Card slots? Please throw in a Parallel port too! Don’t forget a 100baseT port so I can plug in when there is no Wifi! Also, I want a physical keyboard and make it so that you can fold the keyboard against the screen for easy storage….. I wish someone could build a machine like that, I’d buy it in a second……..
